Terms of Service
Last updated: 31 October 2026
Governance, risk and compliance (GRC) Engineering Academy ("we", "us") runs grcengineeringlab.com, a site for learning GRC engineering. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these rules. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. Your account
- You must give a correct email address. You choose a display name and, if you like, a username that others can see.
- Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- One person, one account. Sharing an account with other people is not allowed.
2. What the site teaches
The site offers lessons, practice tasks, graded labs (hands-on exercises), badges and certificates. The lessons are for education. They are not legal advice, consulting advice or a professional certification from an outside body. Completing a room or track does not make you a certified auditor or consultant. It shows that you practised the skills on this platform.
3. Free and paid content
- The IT Fundamentals track is free for everyone. Some first rooms in other tracks are also free to try.
- Everything else needs a paid membership. A membership gives you access to paid lessons, labs and room completion badges.
- Track completion certificates are for paid members only. You earn a certificate by finishing the required rooms of a track.
4. Membership, billing and cancellation
- Membership costs 12 US dollars per month or 30 US dollars per quarter (every three months). Prices include any tax shown at checkout. We may change prices in the future, but your current plan keeps its price until it ends.
- Payments are handled by Stripe, a payment company. We never see or store your card details.
- Your plan renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your billing page.
- If you cancel, you keep full access until the end of the period you already paid for. We do not refund the unused part of a period, except where the law requires it.
- If a payment fails, your membership access pauses until the payment succeeds. Your progress and earned items are saved and come back when the payment works.
- If you switch plans, the change takes effect at your next renewal date. You keep your current plan until then.
5. Certificates
- Certificates carry your display name, the track name, an issue date and a unique certificate code that anyone can check on our verification page.
- A certificate stays valid even if your membership later ends, unless we cancel it for a rule breach or fraud.
- Do not alter a certificate or claim results you did not earn. Fake or shared certificates may be cancelled.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Copy, scrape or republish the lessons, labs or answer keys without written permission.
- Share your account, or use bots or scripts to answer tasks or farm experience points (XP).
- Post unlawful, hateful, harassing or misleading content in discussions, written guides or problem reports.
- Attack the site or try to break its security controls, access limits or other users' data.
- Use the site to break the law or the rules of any company or system you work on.
We may remove content, pause features or close accounts that break these rules. For serious breaches we may cancel a membership without a refund.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of the posts and written guides you publish on the site. You give us a licence (permission) to display, store and share that content inside the site, and to remove it if it breaks these rules. Do not post confidential information from an employer or a client.
8. Our content
The lessons, labs, questions, code examples, images and design of the site belong to us or our licensors. Your personal badges and certificates may be shared on social media and linked from your profiles. Everything else needs our written permission before you copy or republish it.
9. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep the site available, but we cannot promise it will always be up or free of errors. We may add, change or remove lessons, labs and features. If a paid feature you rely on is removed, you may cancel and keep access for the period you paid for.
10. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time. We delete your learning data within 30 days, as described in our Privacy Policy. Certificates already issued stay checkable unless you ask us to cancel them.
11. Liability
The site is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (for example lost profits, lost data or missed job offers) from using the site or its lessons. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
12. Changes to these terms
We will post changes here and update the date above. We will tell signed-in learners about important changes. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13. Law and contact
These terms follow Swedish law. Questions: talk@hexaguard.ng or the contact form.
